Welcome

Welcome to Pompano Beach-Lighthouse Rotary Club web site. We are still underconstruction but the photo album is very interesting and we have an outstanding club bulletin. We were chartered in 1983, July 1. We are now starting our second twenty five years. A history of the first 25 years is in the works and will be completed very soon.

Pompano Beach Rotary Club was our sponsor, we were charted with 34 members. We have had good years and poor years. 2002 was the low point with only 9 members. Since then we grew to 24, but some members lost interest so we dropped to 18 members, but they are all workers. If you are interested in Rotary please stop by an Tuesday at 7:30 A. M. and learn more about us and Rotary.

We added several new charities to our list. They now include SOS Childern's Village, Tomorrow's Rainbow and Pralyzed Veterns Assocaition of Florida. We continue to support the Boys and & Girls Club and of course Charles Drew School with school supplies, about $900 last year and the same this year. A late project was completed by buying 567 socks for the Homeless in support of a project headed by Ft. Lauderdale North. This year the club received two honorary awards at the District Assembly. The club bulletin received it's third and the Public Relations effort was recognized. 25 news releases were printed in three local weekly newspapers. We also recived an award from R. I. President Lee for showing an increase in membership of 10%.
