Business Meeting: Social at Jo Ellen Condo, maps have been issued. 4:00 pm is time to party. The NAMI Walk is set for November 10, 2018 at Trade Winds Park in Coconut Creek. Secretary Bill is looking for someone to go with him to the Paralyzed Veterans of America Florida Chapter’s Anniversary Awards Banquet in Boca Raton on November 17, 2018 starting at 6pm. Grant money, all paper work has been completed and funds should arrive soon. A request has been received form Richardo Valverde to be an exchange student but needs a sponsor.District functions included R2R at Sample-McDougald House was a success, several members attended the RLI in Miami, The next R2R will be at Miller’s Davie Ale House on October 25 and finally the Grant seminar will be held at Nova U, on Oct, 27, Dale Gibson presented the club with a banner from South Africa, during a trip for a friends wedding, This is banner 211 for the club. Dale also gave an import mini report of his trip. Hope he will give a full presentation later.

Banner Sandton South AfricaProgram:: Club Assembly was review of a budget for coming year. Budget includes income form the Seafood Festival, Happy Dollars, 50/50, District Grants and several Misc incomes. Major exposes include Dictionary project, School supplies project, Scholarships Dues (District & Rotary International), meetings and meals.

Business Meeting: Chair Harry of the School supplies project advises that all 6 schools have received their goods. When we receive our Grant money, copy paper will purchased and delivered. Jo Ellen presented the club with 2 banners she receive while visiting New Jersey/.This brings our collection to 210 and moves NJ into 4th place with the most. Illinois and Florida lead. October 6 will be the social hosted by Jo Ellen
beginning at 4:00. District events include R2R Sept. 27 at Sample-McDougald House, RLI in Miami Sept. 29, R2R at Miller’s Davie Ale House, Oct. 25 and Grant seminar at Nova SE U.

Program:: Chair of the Day Bill Zobus presented a
program on his visit to England in June of this year.
He stayed with former Rotary short term exchange
program who stay with him 30 years ago in Streator, Illinois. Stephen and

Beverly Robertson hosted him for 3 weeks. During his stay he visited Stephen’s parents who live is Newcastle upon Tyne, short trip into Scotland, had lunch on a Scottish golf course, visited a Scotch distillery, had a drink in an English pub. Visited two Rotary clubs and exchanged banners, and made the trip to Stone Henge. Stephen works for Royals Royce engine devision. They lived in Derby U.K.

Visitors last week:  Al Zuccaro, Mt. Clemens, MI.  Bill Swasey. St. Joseph. MI. Fred Bashara, Montpelier, VT. Ken Norman, Wyckoff-Midland, NJ. Ray Combs (guest) MEU, Lora Gurdilie (speaker)

Business meeting: Five club members attended the Coconut Creek Rotary club fund raiser to support Abi’s Place (school). WOW Alley (bowling) was the location in Coconut Creek. Bowling was featured with teams for Pompano Beach Rotary, Pompano Beach-Lighthouse Rotary and Coconut Creek Rotary. Attendees estimated about 40-50 attended. Organizers seemed please with the results. Events coming up include: Charlie’s Friends, March 22, R2R, March 29, RLI April 21, Pompano Beach Seafood Festival April 27-29, District Assembly. April 28 and May 4-6 District Conference.

Program: Chair of the Day Carolyn Mann arranged to have exchange student from Croatia, Lora Gurdilie speak. Her Mother is in the travel industry and her Father is a retired Sea Captain originally from Russia. She showed a slide presentation of her family and country. She is attending Pompano Beach High School and is living in Lighthouse Point. When she returns home she will complete High School. Plans to attend College and study with the hopes of finding a job working in Washington D. C.Some of the actives her include a trip to Disney World, RYLA and a trip to Minnesota. Great presentation.

Business meeting: Last chance to attend Vivian Kemp’s 50th Anniversary. March 17, 2018 Signature Grand. Other events include: March 22, Charlie;s Friends at Tatts & Tacos Beer Garden, April 21 RLI at Keiser U, Miami, April 27-29 Pompano Beach Seafood Festival, District Assembly, in Hollywood at Margaritaville and finally May 4-6 will be the District Conference, Marriott’s Beachside.Two members had birthdays, Scott Cutliff and Pat Jamison.

Program: President Spanky attended PETS this last weekend. For new members PETS is President Elect Training Seminar. Yes, Spanky is doing a second year. So Spanky is President and President-elect. Some of the information presented is not fit to print. However, he did find a few things to present to the club members. All of the women received a new pin celebrating 40 years of women in Rotary, Pat J. was given a special pin for all of the extra work making each birthday a special day. Another pin was given to veterans in the club. Finally the theme pin for 2018-2019 was given to all. President-Elect of Rotary International, Barry Rassin’s theme is “Be The Inspiration.” Maybe we should elect Spanky to a third term? Great presentation.
